We recommend attending this year’s Voice of the Valley Noise Rally at Indian Meadows campground in Pentress, WV. This year’s VOV features Columbus based acts (Seabat, Ryan Jewell) as well as others from around the country (Emeralds, DJ Dog Dick, Twig Harper, Monopoly Child Star Searchers, Telecult Powers, Ect). VOV is an immersive experience, perfect for anyone hoping to quench their thirst for genuine experimental music and drone in tranquil, natural surroundings. It’s like Bonaroo, but not corporate in any way and full of music you are more likely to hear on a limited run handmade cassette or LP than on Pitchfork (OK, OK, it’s true, Emeralds were reviewed on Pitchfork). Will there be occult rituals, you ask? Probably.
Tickets are $40 at the gates, which includes three days and nights of camping and more than 40 performances. There is a side stage where artists not on the main line-up are encouraged to set up and perform. Attendees should bring tents and most of their own food (although we’ve heard rumors of a taco stand).
